The kit includes the QLS frame, a clear thermal Spectra lens, an adjustable strap with custom glitter reflective finish matched to the colorway, and G1 quick-change foam. You still need to supply your own bottoms (lower skirt), ears, and visor separately.

Yes. The QLS frame is fully backwards compatible with all existing JT Spectra lenses. You do not need to buy new proprietary lenses — your current lenses will slot right into the new system.

No. Despite sharing the QLS name, this is a completely new, redesigned product. The locking mechanism, frame construction, and foam system are all brand new. Do not confuse it with any previous QLS releases from JT.

Yes. The QLS frame accepts all pre-existing Proflex bottoms, soft ears, visors, straps, and hardware, as well as popular aftermarket parts from third-party manufacturers. This was one of the most praised design decisions in the community.

The lens sits in the back half of the frame, and a separate locking frame (front piece) snaps over it in a clamshell configuration. Two side-mounted locking clips hold the front piece in place. To swap a lens, you release the clips, remove the locking frame, swap the lens, and snap everything back together — no tools, no prying, no sore thumbs.

No. The QLS frame has a medium-thickness profile — thinner than the standard modern Proflex frames, but not as thin as the legendary OG thin frames. The extra material is needed to house the dual-frame locking mechanism. Community members have described it as "not thin, not too thick." JT separately released new thin frames (without the QLS mechanism) for players who prioritize that classic slim look.

G1 is the upgraded triple-layer foam that comes with the QLS frame. Unlike traditional Proflex foam that was glued in, the G1 foam is fully removable — it locks into place via small studs/posts. This makes it easy to replace, clean, or swap foam without tearing anything out or re-gluing.

At launch, the QLS frame is available in five colorways: Black, Ice Clear, Olive, Ice Brown, and Ice Aquamarine. Each comes with a matching custom glitter reflective strap.

The Proflex X also offered easier lens changes but used a completely different one-piece design that was not modular — you could not swap ears, bottoms, or other parts. Many players found the Proflex X bulky and uncomfortable. The QLS frame solves the lens-change problem while keeping the full modularity and classic Proflex feel that players love. It's the best of both worlds.
